New Guidelines for the Identification and Treatment of ADHD

Late in 2011, the American Academy of Pediatrics released new guidelines for the identification and treatment of ADHD. The new guidelines address children and teens between the ages of 4 and 18 and make recommendations for treatment with behavioral therapy and medication. If your child is diagnosed with or you are concerned about ADHD, the following articles may be quite helpful. Personally, I was happy to see that there was a focus on behavioral therapy with all ages along with suggested treatment with medication.

As related to Collaborative Problem Solving, medication can sometimes be necessary to help a child or teen be  able to participate in CPS or other treatments.
