In the opening of this powerful 14 minute video, Robbyn Peters Bennett states something quite familiar to anyone who has some training in Collaborative Problem Solving. She boldly states that, "Kids do well if they can." She addresses the issue of spanking and then goes on to talk about the findings of a large longitudinal study on Adverse Childhood Experiences, known as the ACES study. In summary, the larger the number of adverse, or "bad," things that happen to someone as a child, the higher the likelihood of a wide range of physical and mental health issues throughout their lives.
